Moalboal
A small island off Moalboal with walls, a chimney and dense reef life
Pescador is a rock about a hundred metres across, sitting in deep water two kilometres off Panagsama. Walls drop from just below the surface on every side, and a vertical shaft — the cathedral, or the chimney — runs down through the island's western flank and opens out at around thirty metres.
Sardines shoal here as well as at Moalboal, and turtles, jacks and the occasional thresher pass along the walls. It is one of the best-known dive sites in the Visayas and it is small enough to circle on a single tank.
Fifteen to twenty minutes by outrigger from Panagsama Beach at Moalboal. Every dive shop on the strip runs boats there daily.
