Turquoise waterfalls perfect for canyoneering and swimming
Kawasan Falls is a three-tiered waterfall fed by a spring high in the Matutinao river basin, which is what gives the water its opaque turquoise colour rather than the usual river brown.
Most visitors arrive at the end of the Badian canyoneering route — a half-day of jumps, slides, and swims through the gorge upstream. The falls themselves are reachable on foot in about fifteen minutes from the trailhead if canyoneering is not on the plan.
Take a Ceres bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal toward Bato via Barili and get off at Matutinao Church, roughly 3 hours. From there it is a 1.5 km walk to the first tier.
